Description

Contemporary painting | A world apart, within sight.

Everything in the Blue Cave is a matter of contrast. A deep parma-blue fills the space, while a vanilla-yellow shape stands out against it with an almost architectural presence. As the eye lingers, this shape transforms into an opening, a cavity, a threshold.

The artist does not depict a cave; rather, he captures the idea of a space receding beyond the visible. The allusion to a sea cave surfaces without ever becoming overt, allowing the abstraction to retain its evocative power.

The palette, deliberately limited to blue and vanilla-yellow, lends the composition a distinctive strength. Two colors suffice to create depth and establish the sense of an otherworldly, almost mental space.
