Chocolate

Chocolate presents a face with closed eyes, modeled from a material featuring earthy and chocolate-hued tones. The features are serene, almost suspended in time, while the mouth lends a surprisingly sensual presence to this silent face.

The surface retains the irregularities and traces of the sculpting process, lending the piece an organic quality. Resin, natural fibers, and pigments combine to form a “skin” that is at once raw and delicate, where light gradually reveals the contours of the face.

Poised between portraiture and dream, Chocolate embodies an approach to dreamlike realism in which the human form becomes a realm of emotion and mystery. It is a contemporary sculpture that commands a silent presence within the space.
